Should I get a nose job?

If you are one of the many people with an overly large nose with a hump, bulbous nose tip, hanging nose tip, or overly wide nostrils, you are likely a good candidate for a nose job. When under the care of Dr. Chamata, your nose reshaping surgery is 100 percent customized, and we would never consider a “cookie-cutter” approach. Nose surgery is among the most complex of all facial surgeries – so much so that many plastic surgeons avoid it.

The nose structure is exceptionally complex, and it is necessary to use the most advanced surgical techniques to ensure the newly-reshaped nose is correctly supported and will not collapse or be uneven. Dr. Chamata is a highly-skilled and board-certified plastic surgeon who has been trained by some of the most respected plastic surgeons in the USA and the world.

Your rhinoplasty

create a balanced profile.

Performed by Dr. Chamata in Houston, rhinoplasty can address any of the following issues:

  • Correct a crooked nose
  • Resculpt a bulbous or round nose tip
  • Smooth away a prominent hump on the nose bridge
  • Correct a hanging nose tip
  • Reduce the size of an overly large nose
  • Correct overly wide, long, or flared nostrils
  • Slim a wide nose bridge
  • Add volume to a flat nose bridge

What is the rhinoplasty procedure like?

Dr. Chamata is focused on ensuring your comfort. Your surgery will be performed under anesthesia, and you will feel no pain. The surgery may require two hours or longer, depending on the corrections needed.

When you wake up after surgery in our private recovery suite, your nose will be bandaged and splinted to hold it stable during healing. You are free to return home, under the care of another adult, to rest and begin the recovery process.

A nose job in Houston can be performed on adolescents who have reached the age of 14 to 15 (girls) or 16 (boys), or adults of any age.

Your nose job recovery: The road to a more confident life

As the days pass, swelling and bruising fade, and your new nose shape begins to appear. You will need to keep your head elevated, avoid lifting anything, and generally take it easy. You may feel congested due to the swelling within the structure.

Prescription pain medication can keep you comfortable in the early phase of healing. You should feel well enough to take gentle walks around the home within a day or two and return to work, school, or other activities in about one week, although this can vary from person to person.

Functional nose surgery: Restore healthy breathing with a custom nose job.

If you have difficulty breathing through one or both nostrils, you may need a custom surgery to resolve it, called a “septoplasty,” which can be performed in conjunction with your nose job.

Restoring healthy breathing can help you sleep more deeply, treat snoring, and improve your overall quality of life.

Revision rhinoplasty

unhappy with the results of a nose job?

If your nose surgery failed, and you have been left with an uneven nose, or the surgeon failed to reduce the size enough, Dr. Chamata can correct the problems. Some of the complications that come about due to a plastic surgeon failing to use the most advanced techniques include a collapsed bridge, restoring an area from which too much cartilage was removed, or correcting a pinched or asymmetrical look. It is imperative that your nose surgery is performed by a highly-trained and skilled plastic surgeon to avoid the need for secondary surgery to “fix” what went wrong. If you need to correct a previously done nose job in Houston, this is where you can expect honesty, integrity, artistry, and an exceptional level of personalized care.
